E-learning Module For Student with Special Needs

This instructional design project features a custom-built eLearning course developed for students with mild autism and behavioral challenges. The module focuses on building essential communication, social, and life skills using interactive, research-backed strategies. Designed in a supportive virtual environment, the course embraces Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and is structured to meet the diverse sensory, pacing, and engagement needs of neurodiverse learners.

The course is accessible, adaptable, and learner-centered, helping students gain confidence, reduce anxiety, and build practical competencies through repeatable, multimedia-rich lessons.

Course Aim

The primary aim of this module is to provide Grade 6 students with a foundational learning experience in English Language Arts, including:

  • Reading comprehension
  • Writing expression
  • Speaking clarity
  • Active listening

Through creative digital activities and scaffolded instruction, the course also encourages the development of:

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Self-expression
  • Social communication
  • Independent learning habits

By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate effectively, interpret and analyze texts, and express themselves with clarity in both verbal and written forms.
